Increased Benzine Prices. The recent increase in the price of benzine will cost Hastings ratepayers approximately £2OO a year more. This was revealed at the last meeting of the Hastings Borough Council, when it was stated that basing the consumption of benzine by the council's vehicles on last year’s figures, the increased payments as a result of the new tax would amount to £ 145. This did not take into account the increased costs for hire of trucks and similar items, however, stated the report on the subject. Hamburg cotton importers are exchanging finished products for 10,000 tons of cotton from Iran (Persia).
