Club Meeting. We have recei5 7 ed the following letter from Mr W. Marks, of Matamata; —“Kindly correct the error in your paper Avhen giving a report on the Tauranga Orphans’ Club meeting. You spelt my name Marx. Wherever you got the idea from I don’t knoAV but I Avould like it corrected.’’ We regret the error, the only explanation being that our reporter is a devotee of the four Marx Brothers, and in the cheery atmosphere of the Orphans’ Club meetinggot slightly mixed. Haid Frost. Another hard frost occurred last night, the registration by Mr C. Hansen’s gauge this morning being seven degrees. ‘ Shield Game To-day. The town talk to-day centres on the Te Hurinu'i Apanui Shield football match between the Tauranga and Te Puke representatives. From all accounts half Te Puke will be over, and the players on both sides may be assured of plenty of barracking. Pheasants in Borough. Pheasants have been reported on numerous occasions in Seventh Avenue and in the vicinity of the old aerodrome, and during the past week a cock pheasant has been seen in the Presbyterian Church grounds on several occasions.
