VOTE ON BALANCING THE BUDGET A Federal plebiscite resulted in 507,000 votes to 194,000 in favour of the Government’s plan to balance the Budget in three years (says a Berne message). The Young Peasant and Communist parties recommended rejection. Fifty-six per cent, of the electorate polled. The plans include „a national defence tax and taxation of capital yields at the source. It is expected that the effect of economics will be £ 5,400,000, and new revenue £ 6,600,000 a year. The deficit is still £ 1,000^00.0.
