HIS DECISION
MADE SACRIFICE AT 82 George Hepinstall, aged 82, avlio possessed the finest beard and winskers in Yorkshire and who was known in 1890 as the "bearded cricketer/’ . struck trouble when he was fitted with a gasmask. He tucked his beard into it and was almost asphyxiated. Officials said he must either be shorn or gassed. , , „ Recently he handed a pair ot scissors to hTs son and said, "I have reached a decision.”
