LYCEUM CLUB

MUSICAL CIRCLE The Musical Circle held one of their most successful evenings on Tuesday, when a varied programme was presented. The items included ' a duet by Mrs. Boak and Mrs. Shear--1 man; songs by Mrs. Middleton, Mrs. I Standrin, Mrs, Christian, Mrs. Munro and Mrs. Green; violin solos by Mrs. Davidson; pianoforte solos by Mrs. Shearman and Mrs. Mackay, aud a humorous sketch by Mrs. Undine ! Clarke and Mr. Laurie Friis. I There was a slight increas# in the attendance and among the guests who enjoyed the music were Mesdames M. Perston, Mac Diarmid, Baigent, Russell (Auckland), Peacock, Gibson, Evans, M. Wallis, Alloway (Christchurch), Gerrard and Cowie (Invercargill), and Misses Anne Wil- | lis and Jakins.
