COLLECTING SHILLINGS.

Sir, —Allow me to make a direct contradiction on behalf of the Katikati Branch of the Labour Party re garding the statement made by Mr. B. Hatch of Katikati, appearing in your issue of September 30th, to the effect that a small boy went round with a receipt book asking for a shilling for Labour funds. The Branch has never given authority for any child to collect money for Party funds. As soon as this matter was brought to the notice of the Branch a'meeting was called and the matter dealt with. On behalf of the Katikati Labour Branch. R. W. CUMMINS.
