PERSONAL

The Hon. W. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, returned to Auckland from the north ph Saturday. To-day he left for the Bay of Plenty and will deliver an address at Tauranga tomorrow evening.

Guests at the Tauranga Hotel include Mr and Mrs Gichard (Dannevirke), Mr and Mrs Spedding and Mr and Mrs Wheeler (Auckland), Messrs Adamson, Smith, Hills,- Spoor, B. Loek, Paterson (2),,and Annan. Guests at the Star Hotel include Messrs; Morris, Farquahr, Peters, Whyte, Joll, Annon, L. T. Thomas, Emeraldi, Scales, Norris, Nairn, Welsh, Lees, Burns, Davies, and Bateman. Visitors, at the Masonic Hotel are Mr and Mrs Avery, Messrs Casson (2), R. Smith, Thomas, Parris, Ward, A. Smith and Davey. The death has occurred at Coromandel of Mr Frederick Audley, in his eighty-third year. Mr Audley, a well-known resident of Coromandel, has been employed in most of the historic mines of the district during boom times was harbourmaster for a long period. He was married at Histon, Middlesex, in 1879, and left London in. 1880 in the ship Chrysomene for Melbourne, together with his wife. They came to New Zealand in the old Rotomahana, landing at Auckland in October, 1881, and moving to Coromandel, where he lived ever since. The death has occurred at Thames of Mr W. Diamond, scenic artist. Mr Diamond was for many years employed by the J. C. Williamson Theatrical Company, and travelled with . theatrical shows throughout Australia and the Dominion. He came to Thames twelve months ago; and for some time had resided in Tauranga, where he carried out considerable artistic work in local public buildings. Miss C. Honeyfield of Wellington, is visiting her. sister, Mrs H. Bradmore. She is up for Miss Bradmore’s wedding on Saturday. Sir Apirana Ngata, sitting National Party member for the Eastern Maori electorate, will visit Rotorua to-morrow and will address a meeting of Maori electors at Tamatekapua, Ohinemutu.
