BIRTHDAY PARTY

AT TE WAIKOA A number of friends visited Mrs Undine Clarke at Te Wairoa on Tuesday uight on the occasion of her birthday. Mrs Clarke was wearing a pretty floral georgette frock in tones of pink, and about 8.30 a very entertaining programme was presented by Mrs Dalton of Sydney, Mrs Suddard Foster, Mrs Connor, Mrs Clarke and the Misses Hermia Harrison, Beth Gibson and Thelm* Smedley. The party then divided, some playing bridge and others joining in a game of dumb charades. Supper was served on the verandah, and Mr L. Friis made a speech of congratulation to Mrs Clarke, who then cut her prettily decorated birthday cake. The guests departed for home after midnight, having spent a happy evening.
