Mr C. H. Burnett, M.P., returned from Edgecumbe last night and left this afternoon for Matamata, where he will speak on the British Constitution at a meeting which will be held to-night under the auspices of the Fabian Society. He returns to Tauranga to-morrow and will speak in the Pukehina Hall in the evening.

Mr and Mrs Richard W. McCann, of Washington, U.S.A., are staying at Hotel the Mount, and later intend testing the deep-sea fishing grounds off Mayor Island.

Guests at Hotel the Mount include Mr and Mrs Kealy, Miss Kinroff, Mr and Mrs Watson, Mr Richards (Auckland), Mr K. P. Clarke, Miss Clarke, and Mrs T. E. Clarke (Holjsonville), Mr and Mrs S. J. Aden, Mr Hall, Mr Kent (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Armstrong (Whangarei), and Mr and Mrs Briely (Napier).

Mr W. Scott, of Wellington, is visiting Tauranga, and is a guest at the Star Hotel.

Visitors at the Tauranga Hotel include Mrs Booth, Messrs Caxnmick, Easterbrook, Braund, P. Rennie, MoIlree, Kaulven, Tanner and Booth.

Messrs McLean, H. J. Clifton, Grant and H. D. Clifton are staying at the Masonic Hotel.

Visitors at the Star Hotel include Mr and Mrs Withers, Miss Withers, Mrs Aitken, Miss E. Miller, Miss K. Miller, Mr Bavage.

The death has occurred of Mr Percy Cornelius Vinnell, Mayor of Timaru. It came with startling suddenness. Mr Vinnell had been m good health, but on Tuesday afternoon he said he had not been feeling well and spoke of consulting a doctor. At night, however, he attended a meeting in the Council Chambers.
