I want to I make this my country too.” Born between afternoon and evening performances a,t the Olympic Theatre in Paris—whence her first name—Olympe made her theatrical debut in her parents’ act at the age of eighteen months and became a performer in her own right at eight years. As a specialty dancer in the French version of “Hit the Deck,” she was christened “the smallest sailor in France,” a title that still clings toller there. As a small child she went into the movies and became her country’s “Shirley Temple.” At fourteen she was a star in the French Follies. Her winning of the part opposite Raft in “Souls at Sea” came as a surprise to the whole film colony. # * * JULIAN HUXLEY FILMED Julian «Huxley, curator of the Zoological Gardens, London, and celebrated naturallist, has been filmed at Cleveland Hall studios for final sequence in the forthcoming G. 8.1. film, ‘Heredity and Eugenics.” He is taking part in the film as the representative of three generations of naturalists and scientists descended from his own grandfather, the great Thomas Huxley, father of Charles Darwin. Representatives of the Terry Family and Bossy Phelps, the King’s barge-master, are also to appear in the film which is to be distributed, to schools and theatres. STRANGE ACCIDENT ANN SOTHERN’S MISFORTUNE Following one of the most unusual accidents that has happened in recent years on a studio sound stage, an accident that confined her to her home for seven days, Ann Sothern has returned to vvork in her RKO Radio picture, “There Goes My Girl.” Playing a scene with Gene Raymond a week ago. Miss Sothern was supposed to duck behind a couch to avoid being seen by her fellow player. The actress ducked so swiftly, however, that her chin struck the arm of the couch with such force that her teeth bit through her lip. Miss Sothern was rushed into the offices of Dr. William S. Branch,, where four stitches were taken to close the wound. Fortunately, no scar followed the operation.
