AMERICAN CARS WILL COST MORE
An increase of from £ 4 to £ls in the price of American cars and trucks was announced by distributors in Melbourne recently. Models selling at between £3OO and £ 400 will cost from £ 4 to £6 more. The increase on those selling between £ 400 and £ 500 will be £lO and higher-priced cars will be about £ls dearer. The increases on trucks will be from £ 3 to £6. The factors which have combined to increase the prices are shortage of steel and higher wages. There is a possibility of further increases next year.
