TOWN PLANNING
PROGRESS OF SURFEIT Mr K. T. Goulding, in a letter read at the meeting of the Taurauga Borough Council on Wednesday evening, stated: “While on a visit to [Wellington recently, I interviewed the Director of Town Planning regarding various matters in connection with the preparation of plans required under the Town Planning Act and he gave me to understand that the Town Planning Department was making available further information and maps of the only town planning scheme yet completed in New Zealand. This information should be available very shortly and will he of great assistance in the production of the plans to the specifications required by the Town Planning Board. Instructions have been given for the lithographing ol the base plans on which the final details, etc., of the civic survey and proposed town planning recommendations will he shown. Aerial photographs of the borough have now come to hand and will be of considerable value in connection wita finalising the town planning schemWith the exception of the contoa survey the civic survey is practical, completed and all details are to add to the lithographs as soon these are printed.” The report was received. '
