TOW’S BOARD MEETING 5 (From Our Corrcocoudenl) The Mount Maungauui Town Board held their fortnightly meeting last ; Monday night in the Board office. ; Commissioners present were C. J. I ’-West (chairman), J. B. Dugdale, J. kimber, W. H. Howard, M. T. Lari' kins, C. B. Miller and L. Norris, i The minutes of the former meetl ing were read and confirmed. Com. Miller moved—That the outward correspondence be approved and the i inward received unless otherwise - dealt with.-—Seconded by Com. Norris and carried. Com. Miller moved.—That the action of the chairman and deputy [ ’ chairman in signing plan of Ocean i. Front Domain he confirmed. —Sec- . onded by Com'. Larkins and carried. , Com. Larkins moved.- —That the ' Board apply to have the Mount Maun- ' ganui Town District gazetted under ■ the Motor Camp Health regulations. , —Sesonded by Com. Norris and car- , ried. Com. Larkins moved. —That the : clerk write to the Mount Maungauui - Beautifying Society advising it of a circular concerning tree planting on , Arbor Day, August 11, received from the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs. —Seconded by Com. Kimber and carried. 1 Com. Howard moved—That the : clerk write to the Board’s advisory ' engineer, requesting permanent road '■ levels so as to make provision for J water drainage from Post Office corner frontage.—Seconded by Com. ! Miller and carried. ( Com. Miller nioved. —That by- 1 laws for Mount Maungauui Town Dis- 1 trict as drawn up by this Board and as notified in the Press, be adopted. —Seconded by Com. Larkins and carried. It was resolved that the clerk get in touch with owners of dogs not already registered. Com. West moved.—That accounts ■amounting to £8 19s lOd be passed for payment.—Seconded by Com. Miller and carried. c Luncheon Party t Mrs H. Armstrong of Te Aroha, a t former well known resident of the h Mount, was the hostess at a luncheon h party given to some of her many s friends here. A delightful time was u spent and the re-union of old friends s was made especially enjoyable when P reminiscences of earlier days at the v Mount were recounted. Those pres- t ent were Lady Armstrong, Mrs H. t! Courtenay, Mrs E. E. Lysaght, Mrs a B. Hellish and Mrs Monk of Te Aroha. t! Personal e: Mr and Mrs Mairhead of Auckland d are holidaying here. w Mr and Mrs P. Muuro of Auckland tc have been staying at the Mount, and t€ had as their guest Mrs McDougall tr also of Auckland. Mr and Mrs W. Gaby were weekend visitors to Auckland. Among the enthusiasts who went to Auckland for the big Rugby match last Saturday were Mr T. Davie? and 1 Mr J. Barney.
