Parents ami friends were entertained last night at the studio of Mrs Florence Whitlock, with a pros rain me of pianoforte, violin and singing; presented hy the students. The evening was arranged to-show the progress made and was delightfullv informal, lire children having a very sympathetic audience. The music was well chosen, and within the capacity of eacli student. At the conclusion of the programme certificates were pieseuted to those who had been successful in examinations held in the >ears 1935 and 193 6. Miss Moira Goughian was the teacher at that time. A medal presented hy Miss Goughian to the student gaining the highest marks last year was presented hy Mrs Whitlock to Joyce Bayley.

In connection with examinations, Mrs Whitlock announced that it was her intention to offer to the one gaining the highest marks in the 1937 examinations, one year’s free tuition, and to the one gaining the second highest marks one term's free tuition.

Tea was served to conclude a happy evening which Mrs Whitlock said was the first of several which would he held during file year.
