GUARANTEE PLAN

“ENTREM ELY SATISFACTORY” “It is with gratification that 1 state that the overseas marketing of New Zealand produce is working extremely satisfactorily’,’’ said the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, speakipg at a civic reception at Nelson. ‘There is no doubt in my mind, in spite of criticisms which have been offered from various sources, that if the farmers were given a vote on the issue whether the Government guarantee should remain or not, they would undoubtedly prefer to keep it. “Whatever Government comes into office in future, the guaranteed price will be retained, though it might be altered a little. It has been a godsend so far as small farmers are concerned, and I am sure that the foundation which has been laid will be permanent so far as New Zealand is concerned.”
