HEAD-ON COLLISION

MOTOR AND TRAMCAR INVOLVED CAR OCCUPANTS SERIOUSLY INJURED Christchurch, April IS. Five people in a motor-car were injured when the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a tramcar in Pages Road, Bromley, late on Friday night. They were:—Mr Frank Broadhurst, aged 25, severe concussion and head injuries. Mr Maurice Broadhurst, aged 19, a brother of Mr Frank Broadhurst, severe concussion and head injuries. Miss Lorna Jones, concussion and shock. Miss Jean Awler, aged 18, concussion and shock. 'Mr Robert Stretch, abrasions and shock. All were taken to the Christchurch Hospital and late to-night the Messrs Broadhurst were reported to be in a serious condition. Mr Stretch was discharged after attention and Miss Jones and Miss Awler are not in a serious condition. The car, which was driven by Mr Maurice Broadhurst, suffered extensive. damage. The right front wheel was torn from the axle, one side of the body was ripped off and the windscreen was shattered.
