Blcdi. 100 Park. Mr 11. Tai Mitchell, Acting Hon. Secretary of the Bledisloe 'Park Domain Board, in a letter read at yesterday's meeting of the Tauranga County Council, stated that at a meeting of the Board, held on March 2, he was directed to ask the Council to agree to close a road and vest it as part and parcel of the domain area. The elimination of this “no exit” road would afford the Board better control and administration of the domain. If the Council approved, it was asked to take the necessary action to effect the closure of the road.—A plan showing the proposed layout of BJedisloe Park, as prepared by the County Engineer, was laid before the Council. Mr Benham explained that the closing of the road would be an advantage in connection with the scheme.—Cr McKenna moved: That the request of the Domain Board be agreed to. The motion was seconded by Cr Blaymires and carried.

Town District Severance. Mr Donald Bain, Clerk to the Mount Maunganui Town Board, in a letter to the Tauranga County Council, stated his Board would be obliged if the Council could sea its way to allow the Town Board to have the services of the county inspector, as in the past, until severance from the county was adjusted. The letter was read "at yesterday’s meeting of the Council.—The County Clerk, Mr H. Lewis, said he had not received any official intimation in regard to the severance.-—lt was decided that the matter be left in the hands of the County Clerk.

Saiidlant, in a letter, vend at yesterday’s - meeting of the Tauranga County Council, stated: “I wish to convey my thanks for the County’s consideration in attending to Lever’s Road Corner and also the road to the beach. I appreciate very much your prompt attention to these requests and I am indeed grateful for such consideration.”

Drawing of Art Union. The drawing of the alluvial gold art union in aid of the Tauranga Agricultural and Pastoral Association, took place-last night. The winning ticket, No. 4 204, held by Mr P. T. Ream, carries the prize of £2O.

County Engineer's Salary, The Tauranga County Council, at its meeting yeUerday, decided to increase the salary ot the Engineer by £SO, making the salary £SOO as from April 1.
