General Mola dropped leaflets in the Basque country stating: “I have decided to fini.h the war in the north and will raze the whole province, especially the factories) if resistance continues.’'
The Loyalists have completely ignored the aerial warning. Rebels in the north assert that they have buried 576 loyalists and taken prisoner 1076, of whom 116 are in hospital and the remainder are being court-martialled. They will be sentenced to death if it is proved that they bore arms.
