MILLER—PAPPS

The marriage of "Nancy May, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. W. Papps, Hairini, to Edgar Donald Norman, only son of Mrs Miller and the late Mr Miller of Wellington and formerly of Omokoroa, was celebrated in the Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon which was one of brilliant sunshine. The Rev. Joseph Carlisle perforate-, the ceremony and Miss Beryl Franks nr,wanted' at the organ.

The bride entered the Church on the arm of her only brother, Mr Ken Papps. Her frock of ivory satin was cut on straight lines with a finish of tiny satin buttons down the back, and a long silver girdle, her veil of embroidered tulle falling softly from a coronet of satin and tulle to form a train. With a bouquet of white dahlias and shell pink carnations, and shoes of white satin she was a radiant picture. Deep shell pink had been chosen by the bride’s, sisters Miss i Molly and Miss. Dorothy Papps who were the bridesmaids. The frocks were ground length, very, fitting, with puff sleeves, ami finished at the waist with pink ribbon velvet. Their picture hats were of deep shell pink crinoline, straw trimmed with flat powder blue and pink flowers and velvet ribbons in the same shade, their shower bouquets being of rose pink dahlias and fern. Each wore a crystal necklace and earrings, and signet rings, the latter beipg the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Mick Sinclair of Wellington acted as host man and the groomsman was Mr Murray McNaughtnn of Tauranga. Tasteful decorations of pink dahlias, cosmos and gladioli, had been arranged in the Church which was filled with friends of the bride and bridegroom, and showers of confetti met the bridal party as they emerged from the Church. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Papps received their more intimate friends at the wedding breakfast which was held in the Bell Tea Rooms. Mrs Papps was in a smart tailored costume in nigger brown with hat to match, her bouquet being of pompom dahlias in Autumn tints. Miss Aphra Papps, elder sister of the bride, who was in a forest green ensemble of flat crepe with hat to match, assisted her mother. Misses Marie and Netta Papps, the bride’s younger sisters, were in floral linen. Mrs Jeffares, and Mrs Lindop, aunts of the bride, and Misses Marjorie, June and Jan Lindop were among the guests. When Mr and Mrs Miller left on their honeymoon Mrs Miller was in a green knitted suit with hat to match, and green accessories. Their future home will he in Wellington.
