Distortiont.-- f been too prevalent on 2YA and m W : hut that may be that atmospheric conditions, arc at fault and' at pm >i' ent there may lie no remedy. r PROGRAMMES SATURDAY. — To-night a goo’ V' programme of recorded music h T promised from 3YA. The Bafc 7 : Marston Dance Orchestra will■ al=i sIA broadcast from 9.5 and listeners are Vi invited to make a mental note o[ these dance bands for reference, as iy in the near future local listenin’, “T groups may be a-ked for opinions " t : - SUNDAY.—From 2YA the Stalin A Orchestra will present several* )m m . if hers, and as some very’fine supports A are promised this is the station tot ilio tO-night.

MONDAY.—3YA with many brass band items will be the choice tonight. Margherita Zelaitda may also be heard from 4YA at S-ll and is always worth a “special note.”

TUESDAY.—Serious minded jj s . tenera should tune in 2YA at 740 for a talk by His Worship the Mayor entitled “Oliicial Explanation of the City Loan Proposals,” and,at S for the official opening of • the H.M.a, Conference. For lighter fare tune in 3 YA.

WEDNESDAY.—4YA is the. nick for to-night, all other stations being (on paper) very ordinary. THURSDAY.— IYA is suggested for the first lime this week, but the first part of 3YA, from S, with many favourites must not he overlooked. FRIDAY, —The usual Cricket Test broadcast to-day, and a very line programme from 2YA. Special note should he made of the recorded item, 9.15, Massed Bands. This I consider is the finest recorded brass band item I have heard, don’t miss it, SHOUT-WAVE Early morning broadcasts are now coming in at wonderful strength and listeners have a wonderful choice. At present the Industries Fair is being hold in London and Birmiiighnu and some very fine items are picked up. One item of interest to ScoUkli people will he the Gaelic broadcast, This was picked up at 6.40 a.m. os Wednesday and as it was announced that these talks would be fortnightly, listeners may he aide to hear them at this lime on March 3rd. Home is not finite so good as formerly, but still easily readable. The Vatican on Wednesday 7-7.15 chines' in very strong on G. 3 megs but now being largely political is not so interesting. For a change listeners may pick up the Japanese station after 9 p.m,oa 10. S megs with music. Germany, with four wave lengths (two only decimal point apart) is becoming a miis'ance and interferes considerably with several stations on 9.5 megs. Listeners are advised to tune in this station on 15.2 and 17.7 C megs, Greetings are sent«to New Zealanders (replies to letters) every Tuesday and Friday G. 5 5 p.m., and are sometimes included in the Australian session, Thursday and Monday, at the same time.
