TE PUKE NOTES

GIFT EVENING (From Our Correspondent). On AA’ednesday night a large number of friends gathered at 'the Otamarakau Hall to congratulate Miss Kath Shearer on her approaching marriage. A most enjoyable time was spent in dancing, the music being supplied by Miss Judy Mikkleson and Messrs G. AVebber and Bert Lowe. Items which were much appreciated wore rendered by Mr G. AVebber and Mr K. McFarlane. At an interval before supper, Mr Reynolds presented Miss Shearer with a huge basket of packages expressing the best wishes of all present. Mr P. Collins, on behalf of his fiancee, thanked Mr Reynolds for his kind words and the many friends, for "their presents. A very happy function was brought to a close by the singing of “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.” Among those present were Misses E. Gooding, J. Pepperell, Mesdames Shearer, Reynolds, Mikkleson, Christie, Pilcher (Te Puke), Connell, Pattie, Martin and Misses Collins (4), M. Pilcher, Mikkleson (3), K. Burt, P. and S. Shaw. I. and H. Martin.
