Mrs Wilson, and her daughter Mrs S. A. Woods,of the Strand, leave tomorrow for Auckland, where they will attend the ninetieth birthday of Mrs Herring, of Takapuua. The resignation of Mr Andrew Messer, city treasurer, was announced at a meeting of the Auckland City Council last night. The assist-ant-town clerk, Mr T. W. M. Ashby, was appointed to succeed him, and Mr D. L. Robinson, internal auditor and checking officer, was promoted to the position of assistant-town clerk.
