WAIKAREAO ROAD
A BOUNDARY QUESTION
Messrs Maltby and Lusk, in a letter read at Friday’s meeting of the County Council stated the Council recently approved a pldn of subdivision of Part Lots 110 A and B, Te Papa. It now appears that the public road is 93 links wide Instead of 100 and before the plan can be deposited, the provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act must be compiled with, either by the Coundll passing a resolution .exempting the land from the provisions of the section, or else by the owner setting back his frontage and dedicating as a road half of the shortage in width, which in this case amounts to two feet. Their client would be quite willing to set back his boundary, but it would involve him in a certain amount of expense and the solicitors requested that exemption be granted. It was pointed out that the road comes to a dead end at Mr Geo. Maxwell’s eastern boundary and the road was merely a grass paddock. Cr Sinclair moved —That the request be agreed to by the Council. — Seconded by Cr Gane and carried.
