Mr J. M. Tudhope, of the Crown Law Department, Wellington, is spending a holiday in Tauranga. Mrs Muir of Wellington, is on a visit to Tauranga and is staying with her sister, Miss Allely, Cameron Road. Mr and Mrs J. W. Bailey, who have been staying with Mrs Barney, have returned to Auckland.
Visitors at the Masonic Hotel are Mr. and Mrs Lidgard, Messrs W. S. Bussell, Lldgarcf and Jarrett.
Guests at the Star Hotel include Mr and Mrs Eavnes, Messrs Tudehope, McKillop, Bannister, Kemp. Woodall, Bolton and Hemming.
The death occurred at Palmerston North on Friday last of Mr William Charles Smith at the age of 64 years. The late Mr Smith served for many years in the school teaching profession and on his retirement came to Tauranga and settled at “The Knoll.” He was a member of the Tauranga Borough Council and took a keen interest in many matters calculated to advance the welfare of the town and district. He had many friends in this district, who will extend their sympathy to Mrs Smith and family in their bereavement.
