LICENSING COMMITTEE

ELECTION' IN MARCH NEXT. An election of five members to serve on the Tauranga Licensing Committee is fixed for Tuesday, March 10. The sitting members are Messrs W. F. Sinclair, V. J. Scantlebury and G. Moore (Tauranga), J. Brown (Te Puke) and F. J. Burt (Matata). The returning officer is Mr J. C. Harding, Clerk of the Court, Tauranga. The district comprises the Tauranga Parliamentary electorate and the roll of electors is that used for the same election. There was no election in 1932, as it was cancelled by legislation. In

March, 1929, the Tauranga Licensing Committee was returned unopposed. The late Messrs R. King, of Te Puke, and J. Murdoch, of Tauranga, were then amongst the five elected and the two vacancies which subsequently occurred were filled by the appointment of Major G. Moore, S.A., and Mr W, F. Sinclair.
