MOUNT NOTES
SURF CLUB DEMONSTRATION
(Prom our correspondent.)
A demonstration and competitions in life saving work will be held on the Ocean beach tomorrow, the proceedings starting at 1 o’clock. The following teams have been invited to take part;—Tauranga Girls, Opotiki Girls, Milford Girls, Waihi Girls, Papamoa, Opotiki, Whakatane, Waihi, Milford, Eastern United, Waitemata, North Shore, and Hamilton. Two trophies have been donated for annual competition at the Mount beach. Mr C. J. West, President of the Mount Surf Club has given a trophy for most points fn the march past. Mr E. J. Monro, Tauranga, has presented a trophy for a six man event with resuscitation. These trophies should stimulate interest in life saving work and the donors are to be congratulated for their generous action and encouragement of this useful work. The Tauranga Municipal Band will be in attendance and will play several numbers and will also play the march past of the competing teams.
