WEDDING
HOR WOOD—GARTER.
The Methodist Church, T'auranca
was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday. January Ijtl, when Constance Gladys, elder datimiter of Mr and Mrs S. A. Carter, of Cameron Road, was married to Rich, ard Albert Horwood. of Taurann third son of Mrs F. and the lute Mr G. Horwood. of Whakatane. The church had been tastefully decorated by Mrs F. Playfair and Miss M. Play, fair, and the Rev. G. P. Runt officiated. Mr K. L. Camiell presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr K. Carter, wore a beautiful close fitting: frock of ivory satin and lace, with a lace train fall, ing from the shoulders. Her handembroidered tulle veil was caught at the sides with orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf bouquet of white gladioli. In attendance as bridesmaids wore Miss Hilda Carter, sister of the bride, and Miss Margaret Playfair. They were dressed alike in apricot georgette and lace and had bandeaus of artificial.flowers in shades of apricot. Each carried a sheaf of apricot gladioli. The little (lower girls, Flos Horwood and Vivian Jeffery, were daintily dressed in frocks of apricot drop-stitch organcii. They also had bandeaux of artificial flowers. Supporting the bridegroom was Mr Fred Horwood as best man, and Mr Norman Carter, as groomsman. The usher was Mr Harold Carter.
After the ceremony a* reception ; was held in the Harboiy View lea :■ rooms, where the guests were re-:: ceived by the bride’s mother who ■ wore a cornflower blue ensemble with hat to tone, and carried a posy bosquet of pale pink carnations. Mu F. Horwood, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a frock of black satin beaute i with black hat and her posy was o! red carnations. Mrs B. Williams, o! Auckland, aunt of the bride, was wearing a floral georgette frock In i shades of lemon and rose with a lemon picture hat. Mrs Horwood, of' Whakataue, sister-in-law of the ; bride, was in a white ensemble. Mr and Mrs R. Horwood iaterlcft 1 on a motor tour, the bride wear in? a mushroom pink costume, with navy \ hat, shoes, gloves and handbag. Their future home will bo in Tat-. 1 ranga. 1
