NEW SOCIETY

THE BIG BUOXHEItS AVc should have to live to be very old to know r half the good things done in this world. Here is one more piece of good news. The little Society of Big Brothers is only three years old, hut the Big Brothers are doing their work as sucesstully as if they had been brought up to it. They began because the Probation Officer for the City of London decided that most young sinners need a friend to help them. He started giving practical help to boys and men who found themselves up against the law, and persuaded doctors and lawyers and business men to join him. In three years the Big Brothers have found work for a large proportion of their friends, and given many of them a much better start than they would have had on their own.

Is there not something line and big about this Big Brotherhood? Australia has long had a group of Big Brothers, whose work is to welcome strangers to their land; this little society needs to grow larger still, and Big Sisters may take their place therein, voluntary relations helping to make lire world a happy family.
