Ewart quickened the scoring, he and Beale bringing the total to 55 before Curtis bowled Beale, 55-8-12. Andrews was in difficulties with McKqarney’s slows, being caught behind, 59-9-2. , Godsalve did not score, cocking one up for Capon to hold, 63-10-0. Ewart carried his bat for 14. Tauranga needed 38 for an outright victory and K. Budd went quickly in attempting t to hit out, 3-1-2. Brian followed him closely, being stumped, 4-2-1. Capon and Cairns now cracked on the pace, playing some very nice leg shots.
