KATIKATI NOTES

OBSERVANCE OF ANZAC DAY

(From Our Correspondent)

Anzac Day was observed in Katikati by a service at the Domain Memorial Gates.

The procession, which started from Mr McLeod’s corner, was headed by Returned Soldiers under the leadership of the President of the Katikati Association, Mr W. H. Poole. Following were the Rangers, under Miss Diggelmann, Girl Guides under Mrs Keith Putt, Boy Scouts under Scoutmaster Cuff, and a good muster of school children, after which came the Brownies led by Miss Marshall. The service, conducted by the Revs. G. Palmer and Phillips, was a most impressive one.

The organist was Mr W. Wright and Scoutmaster Cuff sounded the Last Post.
