HOCKEY
OPENING DAY TO-MORROW
Indications point to a most successful opening day to-morrow for the Hockey Association's season, when a. varied programme of 5-a-side hockey matches, running and novelty events have been arranged. There will he at least fourteen five-a side teams competing with a possible inclusion of !j Te Puke team. The programme is scheduled to commence at 1.30 and given fine weather the afternoon’s sport should be well worth witnessing. The Triers team will be chosen from the following;— Mesdames Banks. Parkinson, Harvey, Misses V. Ford, M. Bamberry, J. Cameron, R. Randle, M. Riddell, A.. Parkinson, J. Foster. L. Morse, E. Cambie, A. Scott.
Aretas will be chosen from Misses G. Brown, J. Bamberry, M. Rowe, M. Rendell, E. Merriman, F. Merriman, M. Morris. J. Standen.H. Faulkner. The True Blues’ team will be chosen from: —H. Cambie, W. Griffiths, F. Olsen, B. K. Gifford, J. Mills, X. Tonkin, I. Walker. H. Carter. F. Playfair. H. Neno. E. Swinburne.
A procession of players round the held will take plane at 1.30 p.m.
