DISCOUNT OFFERED BY COUNCIL At the meeting o£ the Borough Council last night the following report was submitted by the Electricity Committee: On April 3 a deputation from the Power Board waited upon your Committee -with a request that in consequence of the reduction in interest charges they be allowed some concession. Any such concession was to be handed on to the consumers. At a meeting of your Committee held on April 7, the request was fully considered and we have to recommend that the Council offer a 7i per cent, discount as from April 1, 1933, provided that the Power Board is willing to extend the life of its present agreement by five years. Depreciation Fund Electric Account for year 1932/3. —That £I,OOO be paid to the Depreciation Fund for 1932/3. Cr Newsham moved —That the decision of the Council be conveyed to the Power Board by the Mayor and the Borough Engineer.—Seconded by Cr Wallace and carried.
