PAPAMOA PICNIC.

Sir,—ln reply to Mr C. 0. Riddel. He was present at the meeting of members of the Papamoa Hall Society when they unanimously voted to have the Society incorporated. Why did he not protest then! He had a copy of the rules in his possession for sometime. With regard to new members we are only too pleased to have them, but his ideas of being compelled to elect anyone without some check on their characters, etc., strikes at the root of all social life and would crate chaos. We have not had occasion to turn down any new applications for memberships so far, but I think that it would not be possible to put anymore on before the annual meeting which is to be held this month. Why did Mr Riddel let most of those that he enrolled resign? Are these the ones that he wants re-instated. —I am, etc., W. A. BENNETT. Maketu, April S, 1933.
