DELEGATES TO CONFERENCES
A meeting of the Tauranga Branch of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Foresters’ Hall on Saturday last, Mr F. W. Keam presiding. The minutes of the meeting of the Bay of Plenty Sub-Provincial Executive held at Taneatua on March 31, were read. At the meeting Messrs Gill (Te Puke), Vince and Barron (Katikati), King (Otakiri), and Barr were elected delegates to the Auckland Provincial Conference to be held at Whangarei next month.
The Chairman said it would be necessary to appoint three delegates to the Sub-Provincial Executive and called for nominations.
Messm P. W, Keam, J. S. Thompson, and E. L. Ainsworth were nominated as delegates and were declared elected.
The question of appointing a delegate to the Provincial Conference was considered, and Mr J. S. Thompson was unanimously appointed. Mr Thompson thanked the meeting for electing him to the position. The Chairman moved—That the accounts amounting to £8 15s 3d be passed for payment, also that the delegates’ expenses to the Provincial Conference at Whangarei be paid.— Seconded by Mr Ainsworth and carried.
