SNOW IN ENGLAND
Rugby, Feb. 20. Further snow fell to-day over most of England, including North Yorkshire.
The fifth and final cricket test, England v. Australia, will be commenced on the Sydney ground tomorrow.
Mr S. H. Higgs, the Wellington artist, who staged an interesting exhibition of pictures 5 here about three yeart, ago, is again visiting Tauranga on a painting tour and proposes spending about a fortnight in the locality. He finds the town and district rich in subjects, and hopes if w'eather conditions remain favourable, to to Wellington with a good collection of records of the beauty spots of Tauranga for exhibition later in the main centres of the Dominion.
Speaking to a Rotorua Morning Post representative one of the American tourists on the Carinthia was loud In his praise of the beauty of the scenery which he had come through. Hailing from the Middle West he expressed himself as astonished at the vivid green of the New Zealand pastures, especially through the Waikato. The long avenue of bush in the Mamakus had a special appeal and was described as “sweU.”
