PRESENTATION

The officers of the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club called on Mr Bert O’Neill at his home last night, when the Commodore, Mr P. F. Carter, extended best wishes to Mr O’Neill and Miss Freda Edwards on the eve of their marriage. He stated that the meeting at which the Club was formed, over twelve years ago, was held In Mr O’Neill's business premises, and he was elected Rear Commodore. Next year Mr O’Neill was elected Vice-Commodore and for the ensuing two years filled the position of Commodore. Both Mr O’Neill and Miss Edwards bad always taken the keenest interest in the Club. Mr G. Maltby, one of the original founders of the Club and last year’s Commodore, paid a tribute to the good work accomplished bjr Mr O’Neill in furthering the welfare of the Club over a long period. The Commodore, on behalf of the members of the Club, presented Mr O’Neill and Miss Edwards with a sliver hot water Jug and cutlery. Mr O’Neill- suitably acknowledged the gifts and said they would always serve to remind Miss Edwards and himself of their very happy associations with the Club.
