MOUNT MAUNGANUI.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. A reception was accorded the Dominion President, Miss Spencer, of the Institute at the residence of Mrs G. J. West on Monday morning. A large percentage of the local ladies were present and an interesting morning was spent. Addresses were delivered by Miss Spencer, Mrs Jones, and- Mrs R. McNaughton. Miss Spencer was welcomed with a neat speech by Mrs G. Petterson, the President of the Mount Maungauui Institute. An • enjoyable morning tea was dispensed by Mrs West, and the visitors left the Mount for Tauranga by the 2 , 'p.m. launch. , In her address Miss Spencer gave outlines of the possibilities for a rest home at the Mount, also a display of useful handcraft.

It was decided that the meetings of the Mount Maunganui Institute be held on the second Thursday of each month.
