HIT BY LIGHTNING

STORM ON FIRTH OP CLYDE. Six holiday-makers of Glasgow Were lately struck by lightning- at Gourock, on the Firth of Clyde, while sheltering from a thunderstorm. Betty Glencross, aged 17, who was rendered unconscious, had the impress of the glass beads she was wearing burned into her neck. Her body was scorched and her clothing was badly torn. Another girl and two young men were scorched. The flagpole on the top of the tower on the hill was splintered.
