Access Road to Section No. 527, Borough Abattoir at Greerton. —I have located the boundary lines at the proposed' entrance and have to report that there is just sufficient room to construct a formation for a roadway. No levels have so far been taken but I think it will be possible to obtain a suitable grade.

Mt. Maunganui Tennis Club. —If the Council is agreeable I propose to order the necessary emulsion to carry out maintenanc work on the existing courts. The tennis club requests that the Council will provide supervision to carry out this work and also equipment to spray the binder. There should be no difficulty in completing the work inside two or three days. Water Supply.—lt is a matter of interest to report that the booster pump even at this season is called on to regulate pressure from one to two hours daily. Exension of the 4in main in Devonport Road is proceeding.

Streets. —The following streets have been constructed and metalled: —Topcroft Hill, Bdgcumbe Road; Norris Street, 10th to 11th Avenue; 7th Avenue is in course of metalling. In connection with clause two the Engineer was instructed to peg out the road line and have the work commenced.

In adopting clause 3 the Council stated that the Mount Maunganui Tennis Club would have to finance the work, and that the Council would loan the necessary plant, but the Club would have to pay the cost incurred in the working of it. Clause 4 was adopted. In connection with Eleventh Avenue, Cr Whiting stated that in company with the Engineer he had inspected the foot of the Avenue, where it joined the beach, and found that there had been a large amount of erosion going on. He estimated that about fifteen yards of large spawls were required to repair the road, and accordingly moved that fifteen yards of Waimapu spawls be procured and the work be done.

Cr Law seconded and the motion was agreed to.
