SHELTER BREAKS.

GOOD FOR STOCK AND PASTURES Ah observer in close touch; with the Inglewood district states that as a result of the wise growing of shelter breaks and planting of hedges, together with the judicious use of fertilizers, many of the farms are today producing as much bulter-fat, acre to acres as the heavir land of South Taranaki (records the News). Not only does the shelter keep the stock warm and comfortable on cold days and nights, but it enables the grass to grow. The lessons from the wise planting are so striking that others who have neglected this most important aspect of farming operations are now paying attention to it, and in the course of a few years it will be the exception to find in the Inglewood district a without adequate shelter. The -work is also adding considerably to the appearance of the district, which is destined to be one o'f the prettiest in the province.
