WHAKATANE V. TE PUKE. The Whakatane White Horse Cup team had a final trial game against the Te Puke representatives at Whakalane on Wednesday. The Whakatone team proved the winners by 5 goals (F. Brown 4, Marks 1) to Te Puke’s 1 scored by Bridger. The game was fast and willing. The Whakatane team had the visitors hard pressed in their twenty-five most of the game. Te Puke at times carried play to the Whakatane circle where Hudson ably cleared on many occasions. Turnbull and Bracken were the .pick of the halves while Chapman, Brown and Dawson were most conspicuous in the forwards.
