Katikati residents will no doubt bo interested in these two items concerning the settlement, which appeared in the Bav of Plenty Times o£ January lSlh.,'lßS2: “We are informed by a gentleman just returned from Katikati that in some parts of the block the grass and clover crops look most luxuriant. Mr Lockington especially having a splendid paddock. The hinds laid down last autumn in grass and clover, ho informs us, are looking well.” “We were glad to see onr old friend. Constable McClusky, of Katikati. the other day. He looks remarkable well, and if the constable’s healthy, robust appearance is any proof of the healthiness of the locality, the Katikati district should he among the most salubrious in the colony. The constable, we believe, returned by the mail coach the same afternoon.” Them was no postal delivery in Tuuranga fifty years ago, but an effort was being made to secure one, for we read in the same issue; -'The reason the postal delivery in Taunuiga is not ararnged yet is because the person to whom the office was offered lias declined the honour.
