GISBORNE CATTLE FAIR. At the Gisborne spring cattle fair, on the first day, there was an entry of 2000. Beef bullocks realised to £8; cow's. £5 10s; heifers, £5 ss; store, males, only an average entry with condition moderate, a result of last season’s drought. Yearlings, extra good. £3 7s; good, £2 ss, small, light, 265; tw’o-year, to £3 7s; threeyear, to £4 10s; bullocks, best, £5 3s to £6 11s; good, £4 5s to £4 11s. During the second half of the sale prices notably declined below' the above values. The Waimoana Stud Hereford bulls were in fairly good demand at 13 to 23 guineas. On the second day beef bullocks of quality realised £8 7s Gd; cows, £5 10s. Stores, 1200 females were yarded. Good four-year-old in-calf Hereford heifers, £4; empty, £3 17s (id; empty cow, fresh condition. £2 15s; light, £1 15s; yearling heifers, 28s to 325; two-year. £2 9s to £3 Is. Quality Jersey heifers w'ere in keen demand. Grown, £5 10s; two-year, £4 2s: yearlings, £2 19s to £3 15s. Total female stores 1200. Total for (he two days 3100.
