TRAINER ATTACKED.

LION LASHES OUT. London, Sept. 29. Princess Mary’s two sons saw a lion viciously attack its trainer when, with their mother, they visited a circus at Leeds. The trainer ordered nine lions to lie down before the Royal box. One refused, and lashed out at its trainer, who skilfuly warded off the beast with his whip until it lay down with the others.

A circus official afterwards asked Princess Mary if her sons had been frightened. “Not a bit—they love it,” she replied.
