BEAUTIFYING.
MEETING OF SOCIETY TO-NIGHT The annual general meeting of the Tauranga Beautifying Society will be held in the Borough Council Chambers at 7.30 this evening. The balance-sheet and report will be submitted and officers elected. The Society has concentrated during the past year in the holding of three shows, which brought horticulturists int friendly rivalry. Trees were planted on the eminence northward of the military cemetery, Mr W. S. Harris being mainly responsible for the donation of trees and the carrying out of this work. The plots at the entrances to the town and Eleventh Avenue, at the Monat Hairinf, and 11th Avenue, at the Monmouth Redoubt and on the Strand frontage, which were established bv (V , „ . . . , , • the Society, are now maintained by the Borough Council and all are decidedly attractive and add to the amenities of the town. The Societv is in need of more enthusiastic workers, and if these come forward to-night there is plenty of scope for their activities in beautifying vacant spaces.
