Garrett and E. Garrett quickly arrived. A track had to he cut, ami after this laborious work was done Air William Jones —who bad received attention —was brought up lo tl> roadway, about 4 p.m He was removed to his son’s home at Papamoa and was examined by Dr L. Ramlcll, at Te Puke. Everything ! possible was done and a nurse was I engaged but Mr Jones passed away shortly tiler five o’clock this morn'ing. Mr Harry Jones was taken to hospital on ii«o evening ot the accident, and is I adly shaken and suffering from shock. The late Mr William Jones had icsided in Tauranga to" about fifty years. He originally held laud on the No. 1 Road, Te Puke. He was in business in Tauranga for a long 'period and held property both in Hie business area and at Topcrofl.
