A clause in the engineer’s report, submitted to the . Borough Council last night, stated that the material is to hand for extensions of the four inch water main' in Marsh Street from Cliff Road to Chapel Street, and erection will commence almost immediately. *
The Tauranga Fire Brigade held the first run of the final quarter in connection with the Randle Cup competition on Tuesday evening. -The result was; Deputy-Superintendent S. Snowden, i ; Fireman W. Griffiths, 2; Fireman F. Bickers, 3. Seven competed.
The Borough Council decided last night to ask tha Valuation Department to expedite the revaluation of the borough.

His Worship the Mayor, Mr B. C. Robbins, urged at last night s meeting of the Borough Council tn&J the Government be asked to find another location for the native hostelry.—Cr Newsham facetiously suggested the Market Reserve.—On the motion of Cr Tanner, seconded by Cr Ivory, it was decided to approach the Native' Department on the lines indicated by the Mayor.
Speaking at the meeting of the Borough Council last night, Cr Law said a request had been made that a water trough on Cameron Road, between Eighth and Ninth Avenuo be removed —Cr Whiting replied that the trough was to be removed to Eighth Avenue, and another trough in the northern part of the town was also to be removed.
