MOTOR REGULATIONS.
OVERHALL PRACTICALLY COMPLETED. Overhaul of the Motor Vehicle Regulations has now been practically completed by the Transport Department and shortly the legal drafts will be released by the Law-Drafting Office, where they are at the present time (says a Wellington message). The regulations will then be printed and circulated to local bodies, motorists’ organisations, and others interested, and probably another conference will be held at a later date. The revision now being made is the outcome of the conference called bv the Minister of Transport (Hon. W. A. Veitch) two months ago, at which there were present representatives of many organisations, all possessing practical knowledge - of the workng of the regulations. In the course of his speech to the conference, the Minister stated that while the regulations were fundamentally sound, the maximum amount of liberty consistent with safety should be allowed.
