CARS UNDER TREES.
Oil, AND grease: OX GRASS. Cr McKenzie stated at last night's meeting of the Borough Council that a certain car had been kept under a tree in one of the avenues for about two years. It created a nuisance by the fact that oil and grease from it adhered to the grass and smeared ladies' skirts and shoes. A man w-ho possessed a car should find a garage for it or keep it on his own property. He moved—That in future no cars be allowed to park on road sides and that the inspector be authorised to take action with a view to preventing thd continuance of such nuisances. Cr Whiting seconded. It was—staled that other cars were also parked in streets. The motion was carried unanimously.
