PIAMvET SHIELD MATCH. Wellington, March 8 The final match of the season for the Plunket Shield between Auckland and Wellington commenced yesterday morning at the Basin Reserve in fine weather. There was a fair attendance of spectators, which increased in the afternoon. The Wellington team contained three minor Association representatives, viz.. Cameron (Rangitikei), Gallichan (Manawatu) and Massay (Wairarapa). Whitelaw was twelfth man. Auckland won the toss and when stumps were drawn had scored 43 2 runs for nine wickets.
